Be in control
- Stay motivated – there is life after work, the alternative to
hibernating at home would be to go out and meet friend, attend an event,
listen to music , engage in conversations.
- Explore your interests - leave your sofa and wonder around, I
am sure you will find other people with common interests.
- Self Esteem – don’t build on your lack of confidence by worrying
about what other people may think about you, find one of your strong points,
present it and build on it.
- Blind dates – with the hectic life we all have it is hard to
find time for romance, yet, romance is to be found where you least expect
it, just look around.
- Have a pet – you cannot find a better friend.
- Make new friends – new doors will open and new opportunities
will arise.
- Tell stories – stimulate your brain and attract supporters.

Use Social Business Events to your advantage
- Prepare before the event – Ask yourself what you think you will
get out of the event; Knowing what you want to accomplish helps you perfect
your strategy.
- Make an Entrance – Arrive late at an event and watch your body
language as it expresses your feelings.
- Get connected – Grab a Perrier, walk around and seek an opening
in a group.
- Meet the Power – Be prepared to take the initiative when meeting
a manager and” figure out what the message will be”
- Cultivate Friendship but avoid Romance – Friendship happens naturally.
- Don’t overstay your welcome – Stay only as long as you’re relatively
comfortable.
- Use what you’ve learned – If appropriate, phone or send a thank
you note after the event, forced gestures are usually ineffective.
Learn something new
Change is one of those things that allow us to charge ahead and further
discover this great life of ours.
Some famous person that lived couple of Centuries ago is credited with saying
this:
“Pay attention to the World, understand Knowledge, love Life, and no
one will persecute you nor will anyone oppress you other than yourselves”.
Interesting things are crying for our attention however, they are visible
only to those that keep their windows open.
Social Exclusions appears to have three interrelated
dimensions:
- economic
- legal / political
- moral / ideological
It is noted that the groups which are commonly socially excluded are those
which are, namely, unwaged, unskilled, not within a 'traditional' family household,
and seen as 'undeserving' (quote)
Don’t fit yourself into this category!
